Short version: the calculator runs in your browser, we don't see the numbers you enter unless you choose to save your plan, and we don't sell anything to anyone. The longer version is below.
What we collect
- Calculator inputs.Stay entirely in your browser. They are not sent to our servers, ever, unless you click “send my reading” and submit your email.
- If you submit your email: we store your email address plus a short summary of your result (monthly burn, runway, the target path you were planning). We do not store the individual line items you entered (rent, savings, debt, etc.).
- Anonymous usage analytics.When you use the calculator, we may record an aggregate row — your monthly burn, your runway, and the “safe / tight / unworkable” flag for the path you looked at. No email, no IP address, no identifying details. This helps us understand whether the tool is useful.
We do not collect: protected health information (PHI), patient data, or any clinical information. This is a personal finance planning tool, not a medical record.
What we do with it
- Send you your saved plan as an email (one transactional message).
- If you opted in (the checkbox on the form), send you the occasional letter as the project grows — at most a few a month, never spam.
- Look at the aggregate analytics ourselves to improve the tool.
We do not:sell your email, share it with employers, recruiters, schools, advertisers, or anyone else. We don't take placement commissions. We're not a job board.
Who actually has access
- Supabase (Postgres database) — where the lead email + result summary are stored.
- Resend — sends the plan email.
- Cloudflare — routes any email you send to hello@afterbedside.com to our inbox.
Each provider has its own privacy practices. We picked them because they're reasonable on this front. We're not aware of any third-party tracking pixels or advertising networks on this site beyond what these services require to function.
Unsubscribing & deletion
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. To delete your data entirely, email hello@afterbedside.comand we'll wipe your row. We will not slow-walk it.
Cookies
We use a session identifier in your browser to link your anonymous calculator runs together. It doesn't identify you and isn't shared with any third party. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
If we change this policy meaningfully, we'll note it here with a new “last updated” date.
